What a blessing to get to jump into the DMin in Preaching under the leadership of Dr. R. Kent Hughes. Amidst much ministry transition in my life during my time at WTS, Dr. Hughes was a wise and loving shepherd. It was a lifelong memory to come to campus the August module weeks and study […]
Doctor of Ministry (DMin)
My time at WTS has been worthwhile for my personal life and ministry. The interaction with fellow students has been encouraging and the instruction from faculty engaging. I plan to use my research at the church I have pastored for 20 years, Community Bible. My D.Min project identified areas of improvement for our discipleship process and […]
My goal is to continue collaborating with the community pastors in evangelizing the community and meeting needs. Noteworthy is strengthening relationship with youth providing opportunities to learn how to become productive citizens. Additionally, strengthening the family unit by providing resources to assist with marital and relational issues (i.e. counseling center to provide free counseling). The counseling […]
God is using my studies as a springboard to help our emerging partnership of 7 churches working together on counseling and heart-change ministry. I lead enhanced versions of How People Change and Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands for members of these churches. We launched a lay counseling/mentoring training for those gifted in personal ministry. We’re […]
My plans are to continue to serve in my church and hopefully do a little writing. Coming to Westminster for my D.Min has been a breath of fresh air after feeling a bit stuck in ministry. I am very thankful for the faculty and fellow students who have been supportive always.
I am grateful for my time in the preaching focus of Westminster’s D.Min. program. The mentoring I received from Dr. Hughes meant a lot to me–both academically and personally–and I’ve made great friends. I look forward to using my training to serve Hilton Head Presbyterian Church, and eventually, Lord-willing, those studying to prepare for ministry.
I am grateful for the hospitality of the seminary, the encouragement of my peers, and the investment the faculty made in the Doctor of Ministry program. Dr. Kent Hughes was a wonderful adviser! My vocation is to serve as the President of WordPartners, a global mission that exists to exalt God’s life-giving Word in the […]
I found my time at WTS to be worthwhile largely due to the interaction with fellow students both inside and outside the classroom and the encouragement and guidance of my advisor Rev. Dr. R. Kent Hughes. Following graduation I plan to continue as the Senior Pastor of River Oaks Presbyterian Church in Lake Mary, FL […]
Although I will turn 70 in August, in the light of John 15:5 and Psalm 92:12-14, I hope to continue serving the Lord and His Church by preaching, teaching, writing, and interim pastoring, domestically and internationally as He permits.
I am thankful to the Lord, my dear wife Ruth, our eight children, thirty grandchildren, church families I served and continue to serve, my advisor, editor, and readers for their prayers, encouragement, and assistance. I plan, God sparing me, to continue pastoral ministry while furthering development of an elder training program for the Heritage Reformed […]
