Alex is so thankful for the training and support she gained while doing the MAC program at Westminster. She has been working in full time campus ministry with Reformed University Fellowship at Boise State University for the past eight years and will continue her role on campus after graduation. The content and resources she was given during her time at WTS have been invaluable for her own spiritual growth as well as her growth in ministry.

I want to thank my husband Nathaniel for all of the ways he encouraged and believed in me while getting this degree. Thank you to my wonderful children, Jeremiah, Gabriella, and Simeon for being so gracious when I needed to study and for cheering me on as I completed my classes. You four helped me become a counselor and I am so honored to be your wife and mom.
After graduation I am excited to be able to counsel with The Polis Recovery Project. I plan to focus on counseling children and youth, women, and missionaries.

I will forever be grateful to the Lord for my time at Westminster. It is difficult to express how impactful this program has been for me personally; it helped in developing a more solid biblical worldview, an understanding of the broad redemptive narrative of Scripture, and, especially, an awareness of the heart of God toward his children in the midst of our sin and suffering. I am not 100% sure what the Lord has in store for me following graduation, but I plan to serve in church lay ministry if not in a church staff or nonprofit organization position.

I cherish my few years learning at WTS. People warned me that “seminary is where your spiritual life dies,” but that was not my experience at all. Each course made me love Jesus more. Truly, theology leads to doxology. My bookshelf grew tremendously as did my knowledge of the Lord and His Word. Every class was applicable in ministry from the day it first opened in Canvas. I’m grateful to have learned with and from students all around the globe. Lastly, I’d like to give a very special ‘thank you’ to the WTS Online Support Staff for their dedication and encouragement. You’re the real MVPs!

God is using my studies as a springboard to help our emerging partnership of 7 churches working together on counseling and heart-change ministry. I lead enhanced versions of How People Change and Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands for members of these churches. We launched a lay counseling/mentoring training for those gifted in personal ministry. We’re now creating a non-profit ministry, Redemption Counseling Ministries, and look forward to working with 3 new churches. At home, I’ll continue to support my courageous wife in homeschooling 3 of our 4 kids, and helping the oldest prepare for graduation.

Upon graduation, I will continue to serve my church as a High School Youth Pastor, but will also begin to contribute to pastoral counseling for our body. I am so grateful for the past five years of steady learning, while immediately applying new information and skills to my ministry context. What a joy it has been!

After graduation, I will continue to serve along with my husband in the church as the pastor’s wife. I enjoyed the theological courses in the program. The Christ-centered teachings in systematic and orderly ways provide a solid foundation for my personal growth in Christ. The counseling courses are very practical with depth. It opened my eyes to see my heart issues and my patterns in relating to God and people. I am convicted yet encouraged to repent and work out faith in love, and humbly help others.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at WTS and thank you to the faculty and staff – you have been brilliant! What’s next for me? I’m already employed full-time at a denominational level in the Presbyterian church here in New South Wales, Australia. I work for the department that looks after church health, and I have the privilege of serving in a number of areas where I use my counseling training as I care for God’s churches and their personnel. My focus ministries are peacemaking and offering support during challenging times. My time in the MAC has definitely been a blessing for this role.

I plan to continue with college ministry and one on one discipleship at my local church. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Westminster! I was able to go through the online MAC program while traveling all over the U.S., and I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to do so. The teaching faculty at Westminster is unmatched, and the online community and support staff were so encouraging and supportive along the way! It has been a joy getting to know everyone. The Lord has greatly strengthened my dependence on Him through this program, and used the Westminster community to care for me personally.

This time to grow personally and together in love and understanding of our God, His creation, and beloved children has been my joy in each season. He’s been kind, nurturing, and so faithful to me! I’m so grateful to the faculty, support, and students woven through my education; giving their best, and embodying the Holy Spirit. After graduation I hope to continue coming alongside of women and children where we work in the Horn of Africa. In the future I hope to keep growing as a caretaker by taking opportunities to continue education and staying connected with global communities of practice!

WTS has shaped me at many times and in many ways, but in these last days, nothing has left me happier and holier than my band of brothers from the preaching labs. Love grew among men who proved humble and wise, for, if you “rebuke the wise, he will love you” (Prov 9:8). After graduation, I will begin a Pastoral Fellowship at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL, consisting of intensive mentoring and extensive practical opportunities to preach, teach, and shepherd as a licentiate preparing for ordination in the PCA. Afterward, we hope to find a call near Nashville, TN.

I started working at Tenth Presbyterian Church in February to start their Hispanic ministry. The goal is to start a Spanish service at Tenth in the near future. Right now I am working directly with six people, all of who are not believers or do not belong to a church. We have a bible study every week. I have been accepted into MTW as their missionary. My goal after I graduate is to move to the Dominican Republic and teach at a bible college and plant churches. There might be an opportunity for me to teach in DR next April 2023.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to study at WTS. After graduation, I look forward to seeing what new opportunities the Lord provides. I enjoy serving in a leadership role at my church, Redeemer Orange County, and alongside my husband with the ministry of Reformed University Fellowship. We also serve as a host family with Safe Families for Children, and I hope to increase my involvement there. I have a desire to use my education to care for women in ministry and at risk families. I have enjoyed meeting friends from around the world during my small groups through this program.

After graduation, I will be pursuing my Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City. My wife and I have loved our time here at Westminster. I would have to say that my favorite time at seminary was renting a cabin in the Poconos one Thanksgiving with a few of my friends from seminary: Jimmy, Josiah, and Bryton. We spent the whole week digesting all of our class readings just for fun, and definitely not playing Settlers of Catan and Wii Tennis.
